Yuma AI alternatives: what each costs and whether it needs a helpdesk

Yevhen Kurapov, co-founder · Updated Oct 19, 2026

Yuma AI lists $850 and $1,200 a month on its Shopify listing, with an unpublished ticket package and overage, and works through a helpdesk such as Gorgias or Zendesk. Alternatives: Siena AI $750 a month plus $0.90 per automated ticket; Fin $0.99 per outcome; Richpanel from $299 a month on annual billing; ChatPal from free, no helpdesk needed.

We make ChatPal, one of the tools below, and list its limits on the same terms as everyone else's.

Yuma AI is an AI agent for Shopify brands that already run a helpdesk. Its Shopify listing starts at $850 a month, it works inside Gorgias, Zendesk or a similar tool, and it can issue refunds and edit orders. The alternatives below split by that helpdesk question: Siena AI and Fin also sit on top of one; Gorgias and Richpanel are the helpdesk; ChatPal and Shopify Inbox need none. We make ChatPal.

What Yuma AI is and what it costs

What it does. Yuma sells four agents: Support AI for tickets, Sales AI for pre-purchase questions, Social AI for Instagram and Facebook comments and DMs, and Chat AI, a live chat widget for your store. Support AI resolves order tracking, returns, refunds, exchanges, subscription changes and order edits end to end, which is more than a chatbot that answers questions. Its FAQ lists email, live chat, SMS, WhatsApp, contact forms, and Instagram and Facebook DMs and comments as inbound channels, plus phone calls through Yuma Voice, in 180+ languages.

What it costs, as of 19 October 2026. Yuma's website publishes no prices. Its FAQ describes performance-based pricing: you pay for tickets the AI fully resolves, and the plan is scoped on a demo around ticket volume, workflows, channels and implementation depth. The Shopify App Store listing is more concrete:

  • Small Merchant: $850 a month, with a package of automated tickets.
  • Medium Merchant: $1,200 a month, with the same terms.
  • Overage fees apply above the package, and additional support fees may apply. The listing doesn't state the package size or the overage rate.
  • Billed every 30 days in USD.

The trial length differs by page: Yuma's FAQ offers 30 days on real ticket data, the Shopify listing 14 days. Sales AI is a separate Shopify app, a product-question widget for product pages, from $250 a month with a 15-day trial.

How it rolls out. Yuma starts on 5 to 10% of eligible tickets, and a new playbook on about 10% of matching conversations. The rest reach your team as drafts in the helpdesk, so your agents keep reviewing while the share grows. Setup is done by Yuma's account team at no extra cost, and its FAQ says most brands reach meaningful automation within the first 90 days.

The helpdesk question decides most of the choice

Yuma plugs into Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Front, Salesforce Service Cloud, Gladly, Re:amaze, Sprinklr or Zoho Desk. Chat AI and Social AI hand anything that needs a person to Gorgias, Zendesk or a similar tool. So your monthly bill is Yuma plus the helpdesk your team works in. The same is true of Siena AI and Fin used outside Intercom.

That is a sensible setup for a brand with a support team and a few thousand tickets a month. It is a heavy one for a store where the owner and one assistant answer messages. Ask three questions before you compare prices:

  1. Do you already pay for a helpdesk your team likes? Then an AI layer such as Yuma, Siena or Fin keeps your macros, reports and routing where they are.
  2. Do you want the AI to take actions in Shopify, such as refunds, returns and address changes? Yuma, Siena and Gorgias list these for their AI. Richpanel's AI makes order and subscription updates, and returns and exchanges are a paid add-on. ChatPal and Shopify Inbox answer questions and hand actions to a person.
  3. Where do your customers write? If most support is email, you need a tool that answers email. If most of it is chat and Instagram or WhatsApp DMs, a chat-first tool may be enough.

When Yuma AI is still the right choice

Stay with Yuma if you run Gorgias, Zendesk or Kustomer with several agents, a large share of tickets are returns, refunds and subscription changes, and you want those actions done without a person. The performance pricing also suits a brand that would rather pay per resolved ticket than per seat, as long as the package and overage rate on your quote make sense against your volume. If your ticket volume is in the thousands, the $850 entry price is easier to justify than for a store with a few hundred conversations a month.

How we chose

We picked tools a Shopify brand would compare with Yuma for AI support and sales, and that show a price somewhere public. On 15 October 2026 we read each one's pricing page, FAQ or help center, and Shopify App Store listing where there is one, and noted what is metered, whether it needs a helpdesk, which channels it answers and what actions the AI takes. We re-checked every price on 19 October 2026. We make ChatPal; we did not test the other tools hands-on.

A helpdesk with its own AI

Gorgias

Price: Starter $10 a month for 50 tickets, Basic $60 for 300, Pro $360 for 2,000, billed monthly; AI Agent adds about $1 per automated interaction, from $30 for 30

Good at

  • Helpdesk and AI Agent in one product, priced by ticket rather than by seat
  • Lists a Shopping Assistant for pre-sales conversations next to support

Keep in mind

  • Each automated interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket, and interactions above the plan's allowance are listed at $1.50 each in the pricing page's data

Richpanel

Price: $119 per seat a month billed monthly, $99 billed annually; AI about $0.20 per conversation at the annual credit rate ($0.50 a credit, $0.60 monthly), $200 a month minimum; one seat plus AI from $299 a month on an annual commitment

Good at

  • AI billed per conversation thread, not per reply, with no separate resolution fee
  • Email, chat, social, SMS and WhatsApp in one helpdesk

Keep in mind

  • Seats plus a $200 monthly AI minimum, so one person and the AI start at $299 a month on an annual commitment

One month on each tool

Take a brand with 1,500 support conversations a month, mostly by chat and Instagram, and assume 900 of them are order-status and product questions an AI could answer alone. These are our assumptions, not a measure, and the tools count in different units, so read each line as a range in that tool's own terms.

  • Yuma AI: $850 a month on Small Merchant, plus overage if 900 resolutions exceed the package, which the listing doesn't size. Add your helpdesk on top. Your demo quote decides this line.
  • Siena AI: $750 platform fee plus 900 automated tickets at $0.90 ($810) is $1,560 a month, plus your helpdesk.
  • Fin: 900 outcomes at $0.99 is $891 a month, well over the 50-outcome minimum, plus your helpdesk. Handoffs Fin makes through a configured procedure count as outcomes too, so the real count can be higher than 900.
  • Gorgias: AI interactions count as tickets too, so all 1,500 conversations need Pro (2,000 tickets). With AI Agent on, Pro is $550 billed monthly and includes 190 automated interactions. The other 710 cost $710 at $1.00 each, or $1,065 at the $1.50 the pricing page's data lists above the allowance, so about $1,260 to $1,615 a month, helpdesk included. The Gorgias pricing page works through other volumes.
  • Richpanel: 900 AI-handled threads at about $0.20 come to about $180, so the $200 AI minimum applies; on monthly credits, which cost a fifth more, about $216. With one seat, that is $299 a month on an annual commitment or about $335 billed monthly. Each extra agent adds $99 or $119.
  • ChatPal: it counts AI replies, not conversations, including the reply on a chat it hands over. At an assumed 3 replies per conversation, 900 conversations are 2,700 replies; one reply on each of the other 600 before your team takes them brings it to 3,300, inside the $120 Pro plan (4,000 replies). Those 600 go to your team in ChatPal's inbox, or to Zendesk if you connect it.
  • Shopify Inbox: $0, but only for questions asked in your store's chat. Instagram and WhatsApp messages still need another tool or a person.

The gap is large, but so is the difference in what you get. Yuma, Siena and Gorgias change orders and issue refunds on their own, and Richpanel's AI makes order updates. ChatPal and Shopify Inbox answer and hand over. Price only the work you actually want the AI to do.

Yuma AI or ChatPal: which fits

Choose Yuma AI if:

  • you already run a helpdesk with a team in it, and want AI that works inside it;
  • returns, refunds, exchanges or subscription changes are a big share of your tickets and you want them resolved without a person;
  • email is a large part of your support;
  • your volume makes $850 a month or more an easy trade against agent hours.

Choose ChatPal if:

  • most questions are about products and orders, and they come in through your site chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or Telegram;
  • you don't have a helpdesk and don't want one: chats handed to a person land in ChatPal's own inbox, and your team replies there on the customer's channel;
  • you want a published price you can start on today, from free for 100 replies a month;
  • you are happy for cancellations and delivery changes to reach your team as a request, with the order number and the customer's own words.

If you already use Zendesk, ChatPal can also work there: in Autopilot it answers tickets itself, and in Copilot it drafts replies your agents review in the Zendesk sidebar. Order support isn't available inside Zendesk; it works on the website, WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram.

Trying ChatPal next to your current setup

You can run ChatPal on one channel while Yuma or your helpdesk keeps the rest, as long as each channel has one tool.

  1. Connect your store. In ChatPal, click Integrations → Shopify in the left navigation, enter your store's Shopify address and click Connect Shopify. Shopify asks you to approve read-only access, customers' own orders included. The assistant then answers from a copy of your catalog with current prices and stock.
  2. Check order support. It is on from the moment you connect. Your store needs Shopify's new customer accounts; if it still uses classic ones, the Order support section on the Shopify integration page says so.
  3. Test on your own order. On your website the customer taps Continue once to sign in; on WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram the assistant sends a sign-in link. Ask where your order is, then ask to cancel it, and check the request reaches your team with the order number.
  4. Start with one channel. Instagram DMs or your site chat are the easiest. If you use the site chat, take the other chat widget off the store at the same time.

Questions people ask

Yuma AI's Shopify App Store listing shows two plans on 19 October 2026: Small Merchant at $850 a month and Medium Merchant at $1,200 a month, each with a package of automated tickets and overage fees. The listing doesn't say how many tickets the package holds, and Yuma's own site gives no per-resolution price, so you learn the real number on a demo.

Yuma describes itself as plugging into your existing helpdesk, such as Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Front or Salesforce Service Cloud, and hands conversations that need a person to it. Its site doesn't say whether it runs without one. If you don't have a helpdesk, budget for one or pick a tool with its own inbox.

Yes. Yuma's FAQ offers a free 30-day trial on real ticket data, while its Shopify listing shows a 14-day free trial on both plans. Ask which one applies to you before you start.

Of the tools here, at the prices listed on 19 October 2026, two can cost nothing. Shopify Inbox is a free app on the Basic plan and up, and its AI agent answers product and order questions, but only in your store's chat widget. ChatPal is free for 100 AI replies a month and $20 for 500, and also answers on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Telegram. Neither processes refunds or returns on its own.

No. ChatPal tells a signed-in customer where their order is and what's in it, and passes cancel, delivery-change and missing-parcel requests to your team once the customer confirms. If you want the AI to issue refunds or change orders itself, look at Yuma, Siena or Gorgias.
