An AI assistant that books appointments into your Google Calendar

Set your services and bookable hours in ChatPal. The assistant offers only times that are free in your calendar, asks for the customer's name and phone number, and adds the event. It works in your website chat, WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram.

Your calendar decides

Time that's busy in your calendar is never offered

ChatPal checks your Google Calendar before it offers a time. Add a day off or a private appointment there, and those hours stop being offered.

1

A customer asks to book

On your website, WhatsApp, Telegram or Instagram.

2

Free times from your calendar

Your bookable hours minus everything already in Google Calendar.

3

The event is added

The assistant confirms the booking in the chat, and the event appears in your calendar.

Reschedule and cancel in the chat

The assistant finds the booking by the phone number it was made with. On the practitioner card you can set a "Cancellation & rescheduling cutoff" of 1 hour to a week. Inside it, the assistant tells the customer the booking can't be changed in the chat and, where handing over to your team is available, offers to pass them to you.

On your own or a small team

Each practitioner has their own calendar, hours and services. A colleague shares their calendar once: in Google Calendar they open that calendar's "Settings and sharing", click "Add people and groups" under "Shared with", and add your connected Google account with "Make changes and see event details".

Tap instead of typing

Times and services arrive as options to tap: cards in the website chat, buttons in Telegram and Instagram, and on WhatsApp a list that opens with one tap.

From your Google account to the first booking

You need a Google account with the calendar you use for appointments, and a ChatPal assistant, which is created when you sign up. Customers book in the chats the assistant answers, so connect at least one (website chat, WhatsApp, Telegram or Instagram) under Integrations. The four steps below are on the Google Calendar page in the same section.

1

Connect Google Calendar

Click "Connect Google Calendar" and approve access in the Google window. Tick every permission Google asks for: they start unticked, and without them the assistant can't add, move or cancel bookings.

2

Your services

Give each service a name, a duration and, if you like, a price. Prices can only be in EUR, USD or UAH, so if you charge in another currency, leave the price off. A buffer adds minutes after each appointment that customers can't book.

→
3

Practitioners & working hours

Fill in the practitioner card: the calendar bookings land on, your bookable hours for each day and the services you offer. Use "Add practitioner" for each colleague.

→
4

Go live

Switch on "Take bookings with this assistant". From then on, customers can book in its website chat, WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram; booking doesn't work in Zendesk.

Before and after each booking

Questions about your services

When a customer asks how long a service takes or what it costs, the assistant answers from your service list and offers to book.

Booking alerts

You're told about every booking, reschedule and cancellation by email, Telegram or both. Choose under "Manage workspaces...", on the Notifications tab.

Reminders that follow the booking

The assistant sends a reminder in the same chat the customer booked in. None are sent until you add one in the assistant's settings, under Reminders. After that, they move when a booking is rescheduled and stop when it is cancelled.

Days that don't match your week

Under "Exceptions for specific dates" on the practitioner card, give one date its own hours: a longer day, a shorter one or a day off. All other dates keep your usual weekly hours.

Google Calendar chatbot FAQ

Your own Google Calendar. You connect a Google account in ChatPal, and each booking appears there as an event.

It takes the bookable hours you set in ChatPal and removes everything already in your Google Calendar. Block time there and it stops being offered.

Your website chat, WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram. On the three messaging apps the assistant can't write first, so the customer starts the chat, and it doesn't listen to voice notes (photos it does read, up to 4 per message). In Telegram it is a separate bot for your business, not your personal account: customers open the bot's link, shown on the Telegram integration page, and start it. Each channel is connected separately under Integrations. Booking doesn't work in Zendesk. There is no Viber, and the assistant doesn't take phone calls.

Yes, in the chat. The assistant finds the booking by the phone number it was made with, so anyone who knows that number can move or cancel it, just as they could by phoning you. If you set a cutoff, it won't change a booking inside that window; you can still move it yourself in Google Calendar.

Only one booking integration can be active per assistant. If Calendly or Altegio is active, turn it off first.

Yes. Google Calendar booking is on every plan. The Free plan includes 100 messages a month, and each reply from the assistant counts toward them. One booking takes several replies: the service, the free times, the name and phone number, and the confirmation. Paid plans and their limits are on the pricing page.
